The Piraeus-based company has bought the Tsuneishi Zhoushan-built, 58,100-dwt supramax Hudson Trader 1 (built 2009) from Japan’s Nisshin Shipping for $7.5m, TradeWinds has learned.

The Hudson Trader 1 becomes the smallest ship in Vita’s current six-ship fleet, which consists of three panamaxes and three kamsarmaxes, the oldest of which was built in 2001.

Vita Management has been slowly but steadily renewing and expanding its fleet over the past few years.
