LNG bunkering gained a lot of traction in Asia last year — and for obvious reasons, given its greener credentials and relative economic advantage compared to other marine fuels. For instance, the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore announced that the Lion City would be ready for LNG bunkering by 2020.

South Korea also revealed plans to add an LNG bunkering terminal to a public gas terminal in Tongyeong by 2017, with similar facilities in Gwangyang, Boryeong and Incheon to follow.
