Pyxis Tankers’ novel approach to gaining a US listing this week is not likely to be repeated, even if other owners would like to try.
As Pyxis management explained to TradeWinds in an interview last week, it is not easy to find a merger partner like the one they located in San Francisco-based tech outfit LookSmart.
“It’s hard to find a company that’s Nasdaq listed and they’re actually willing to essentially delist and provide that listing to someone else — there aren’t many companies that would do it,” said Tony Backos, Pyxis general counsel.
