The company has sold the Guangzhou-built, 50,000-dwt tanker Maersk Malta (built 2010) to compatriot owner Torm for $27m, according to sources. It bought the ship as Giacinta for $21.5m in March this year.
Chief executive Morten Engelstoft said: “It is part of our business to buy and sell vessels. We had a good offer for Maersk Malta and chose to sell.”
