In a joint statement, the two companies said they have decided to cease joint operations as of today.
Nils Petter Sivertsen, president of Jo Tankers, told TradeWinds: "We had a very good cooperation with Tokyo Marine for two years, but we now decided to stay independent enabling us to follow our strategy for the future.
"I would like to stress that the cooperation has been fruitful and we separate as friends.
