It’s not often that matters of money favour parents over their offspring but in the case of Diana Shipping’s latest panamax deal it appears to have worked out relatively well for dad.
As TradeWinds reported yesterday, Simeon Palios’s Diana paid $39.8m for the three bulkers from a company controlled by his daughters Semiramis Paliou and Aliki Paliou.
Diana said in a statement the price of the 75,700-dwt Sunshine (built 2010) and the Manzoni and Infinity 9 (both built 2013) had not been seen for 15 years.
