A South Korean buyer is said to have paid $44m for a pair of chemical tankers owned by Principal Maritime and Nisshin Shipping.

The buyer is not known but some brokers point to Hyundai Glovis, the South Korean car carrier owner that jumped into the chemical tanker space earlier this year.

The company is said to have purchased the 19,900-dwt North Fighter (built 2006) owned by Connecticut’s Principal, according to multiple shipbroker reports.
