Armed police have forced Australian seafarers off a CSL bulker and escorted cheaper overseas crew members on board amid a union protest.
The incident took place on Friday at Newcastle on the 50,000–dwt CSL Melbourne (built 2002).
Police boarded in the morning and told the five remaining domestic crew they had to leave, so that the new crew could take the ship to Singapore for international trading, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
