A giant Chinese containership remained aground in Germany on Friday after tugs failed to shift it.
The 19,100-teu CSCL Indian Ocean (built 2015), owned by CSCL, got stuck in the Elbe en route to Hamburg on Thursday morning, but it was hoped a high tide at noon could help refloat it.
The DPA news agency said attempts were unsuccessful, however, and the coastguard reported the situation unchanged.
