The 6,732–teu MSC Flaminia (built 2001) has been cleared for a five day tow through the England Channel and North Sea to the German Bight and then to the port of Wilhelmshaven.
The go ahead was given after Germanischer Lloyd declared the vessel sufficiently stable for the voyage and the authorities in the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany gave the green light.
